I am always curious how brides find me. Is it word of mouth? A vendor? A google search? Usually, it’s one of those three, however Brittany was different. We actually met on instagram, through our dogs instagram pages. I’m not kidding! Her shih tzu @shihtzujack and my late shih tzu, @titomonter followed each other. Fast forward to just a few months ago when I received an email on my wedding website that Brittany was getting married Memorial Day weekend of this year. I was so excited! First of all, our pups knew each other. Second, she’s a fellow shih tzu momma. Third, this would be my first ever instagram inquiry and booking. After chatting with Brittany and Josh about their wedding day I suggested an engagement/puppy session just so we could meet each other, and they can get a feel for what its like to be in front of the camera. I love that they wanted to do the session on the west coast. Finding a dog friendly beach can be tricky, but we decided on Venice Beach in Sarasota. Venice has amazing nature, gorgeous backdrops, and a dog friendly area. The weather could not have been better and when Josh and Brittany showed up with Lucky and Jack wearing bow tie collars I couldn’t help but think who this shoot was going to be about. The pups knocked it out of the park, and constantly kept us giggling. Whether it be Jack not wanting to walk at all, or Lucky trying to escape from his collar and explore, I left that engagement session with a perma smile. Here are some of my favorites from their day, and I cannot wait for their wedding this weekend at the historical Dubsdread.
